Hi, thank you for dropping by!
I'm Deborah, sole designer/maker for my little company Pretty Goods.
I have a passion for fabrics, especially natural and vintage fabrics, and love rummaging in
charity and junk shops, antique shops and markets to find special pieces.
I use these, and some recycled fabrics, to make 'Pretty Goods',
a unique and pretty range of home accessories and gifts
that I sell on-line and at craft markets.
As well as the Home Accessory range, I make bespoke soft furnishings to order;
from curtains and blinds, to bedspreads and loose covers in the clients own fabrics.
I will visit and measure up and advise on design, suitability of fabrics and hang or fit
the furnishings once completed.In this website you'll find some info
and quick links to my on-line shops; my Pretty Goods and Sew Good blog;
a photographic record of Pretty Goods items on Flickr;
news about my latest handmade items on Facebook
and information about my bespoke soft furnishings
I'm also a tutor for the Adult Education Service,
and run my own private sewing class,
so I have included details about the classes
I teach and links for enrollment.
I love teaching and passing on my knowledge and skills in
sewing and making soft furnishings.
I have over 30 years teaching experience, in both schools and Adult Eduation.
I currently teach in two centres, two days a week, and hold a private sewing class on a third day.
An Adult Education Soft Furnishing class.
Recently I co-organised a very successful fair -
The Kitsch and Stitch Vintage and Makers' Fair which was warmly received by the public.
We hope to make it a three times a year event.
